Solar Power Homes – Solar Power Generator For Homes

March 7th, 2011 George No comments

Experts are always pushing for the use of solar power homes. With the help of this equipment, you will be able to produce your own electricity so you will no longer have to depend on the commercial service providers. This is indeed a good way so that you can save some cash. Moreover, this can also be very safe for the environment since the kind of energy that you are using is renewable.

Nevertheless, there are still a lot of people who are hesitant to use solar power homes. Probably, they thought that this is very troublesome since they do not know what they should do. There are also those who do not know the materials that they should use so that they can construct one.

However, you need to know that this is not the case. If you are going to build your own solar power homes, there are just a few materials and tools that you need. You can go to your nearest retail stores and check some of these products. As a matter of fact, most of these can even be bought online and this is very convenient.

However, when purchasing the materials, you need to make sure that they have good quality so that they will last a long time. The panels should be every sturdy and durable. The batteries should be safe and have a long shelf-life. The generator should be functional and simple to operate.

It is also very important that you plan this project. To do so, you have to make sure that you will decide on the amount of power that you intend to use. This way, you will be able to compute how much you should produce. It is also very essential that you consider how often you intend to use the equipment.

But before you try this out, it is very essential that you are educated about the concept that is behind this project. You should know what renewable energy can do in producing alternative power. The internet can actually be a good way so that you can understand what this project is all about.

Actually, there are also several solar power homes that you can readily purchase and use. However, they are much more expensive as compared to when you construct your own equipment.

But if you are really clueless about all of these, it will do you good if you will ask for the help of the experts.

Would you buy a “green kit”? Includes….?

November 13th, 2010 George 1 comment

I am going to ask this in a couple places……

I have a marketing assignment and thought of a “green kit”. You can pick from reusable shopping bags, the water regulators for toilets (etc), incandescent light bulbs, maybe some seeds for planting trees/flowers, baby and cleaning products, info and set up (if interested) for setting up solar power paneling, maybe some recycling bins that break down so you can store them easily (we have to take our recycling to a bin at the end of town….no pick up), notebooks/school supplies made from recycled material…that’s all I thought of so far.

1) would you buy it?
2) would you add anything to the list that you would want to buy?

Thanks all……

When doing a Photovoltaic grid connection…?

November 12th, 2010 George 2 comments

I have noticed some material that says the inverter ties into the meter and power flows from the meter to the distribution panel: http://www.altestore.com/store/Kits-and-Package-Deals/Grid-Tied-Systems/Alt-E-Designed-Grid-Tie-Packages/AltE-Grid-Tied-Package-System-A-1kw/p6629/

While other material indicates that the inverter is before the panel and after the meter: http://homepower.com/basics/solar/#SolarElectricSystemComponents

Is one or the other “correct”? If both are used when is one preferred over the other or what are the advantages of one installation over the other?
Thanks Percy, my email is available, but I am presently more curious about the different approaches than a practical application.

Electrathon Car battery Regeneration?

November 12th, 2010 George 1 comment

Our school has an electrathon car that we race. I am the driver this year (smirk ear to ear). I want to incorporate brakes that regenerate the battery when it is coasting. The concept is that we have 2 batteries and we race around a track and see who can complete the most laps in 1 hour. Only 2 batteries are allowed and they can’t be swapped. We need to find a way to regenerate power without creating much drag. Other ideas have included solar panels and windmills on the car, but I have asked around other schools in the area, and one school does this brake regeneration. I wouldn’t ask the world on here, but they are unwilling to share their secret.

Also, if you can help by telling any modifications we can do to increase the speed, it would be amazing. Here is a link to the car we have:

Thank you so much!

I want to know if this website is legit?

November 11th, 2010 George 4 comments

The website is http://www.how2buildsolarpanels.com/how-to-build-solar-panels.php?OVRAW=Solar%20Panel&OVKEY=solar%20panel&OVMTC=standard&OVADID=20273554021&OVKWID=187155813021

It says that it will send you this kit, GreenDIYenergy, that will teach you how to cut your energy cost down and build solar panels. I was just wondering if anyone out there had tried these before and if they worked or if anyone had bought anything from this company and if they are legit or not. Thanks so much in advance.

Can you add a generator to an electric vehicle to create regeneration?

November 11th, 2010 George 10 comments

We have been fooled into depenency on fossil fuels. Take the fuel motor out of a hybrid and replace it with an electric motor the vehicle becomes regenerative. Add a generator to an electric car or conversion kit. Add regenerative braking(already on some hybrids)and solar panels for optimum efficiency. Take the fuel motor off a home generation system and add an electric motor then you have regeneration without the use of fuels. Run power plants with electric drive sysytems. Yes it is that easy. Tesla knew this that is why some of his work is classified. This information is free to all.
